Waste & circularity

Zero waste and zero impact

We all have a role to play to minimize the pollution and impact of waste and energy consumption on the planet.

Hexagon’s manufacturing processes involve substances and materials that can potentially cause harm to the environment if not handled properly.

We are committed to achieving our long-term goal of 1) zero waste to landfill from production and 2) advancing a zero-impact energy culture with efficient design, CO2 efficient operational operational and procurement choices to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Our top priorities

  • Reducing the presence of hazardous materials
  • Recycling processes for carbon and glass fiber used in production
  • Reducing waste to landfill

Results and achievements 2023

In 2023, we established processes that ensure our materials can be used, recycled and repurposed where possible to minimize our consumption impact on the planet.

Our teams conducted waste stream mapping at sites for all waste types: recycling, landfill, hazardous and electronic.

The waste stream mapping conducted is essential to realizing our full potential and to capture gaps in current processes. We are in close dialogue with research institutes and suppliers to move even further forward toward circularity.
